Al French Appointed to MRSC  Board of Directors

The Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC) of Washington has appointed their very first Spokane County Commissioner to be appointed for a four-year term on the Board of Directors. Board Chair Al French, was selected during the June 22nd annual meeting of the MRSC board in Spokane. According to their website, MRSC is a private, non-profit organization based in Seattle. Their mission is to promote excellent in Washington local government through professional consultation, research and information services.

U-S Representative Jay Inslee is planning a trip to Spokane announce his candidacy in the race for governor. Inslee will launch his campaign Monday in Seattle, followed by a second event in the Yakima Valley town of Wapato. His advisors say he'll make stops in Spokane, Tacoma and Vancouver on Tuesday. Inslee has spent more than a decade in Congress.

Effective July 1, All State Liquor Stores To Have Uniform, Expanded Operating Hours
Effective July 1, all state liquor stores will have the same hours of operation.* All state stores will also be open additional hours for added convenience. The WSLCB received funding in the state budget to standardize state store hours. Standardized hours are projected to generate nearly $800,000 in additional revenue during the 2011-13 Biennium. Currently, operating hours vary by location at the 166 state stores. The new state store hours will be:

Monday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Friday – Saturday: 10:00 a.m.
